What I’m about to say shouldn’t matter, if you like and appreciate Nordic culture/history and want to get tattoos to demonstrate that then you should do it.

But it’s worth mentioning in case you didn’t know, there is a firm overlap between people that like Nordic iconography and white supremacy. There are lots of white supremacists walking around with Nordic runes and symbols tattooed on them, so much so that makes in some places, having these Nordic tattoos might make people assume you share the same beliefs.

It truly is annoying when cool things are co-opted by terrible people and I suppose the best way to “take them back” is to just keep using them whilst not being a terrible person, but there’s still the risk of being assumed to be associated with those terrible people.
