Are transgender feelings sinful?

The Bible tells us that we are made in God's image. Genesis 1:27: 'So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.'

This means that you are made in such a way that pleases God. To be something else, that God did not make you, would be to play against God.

The Bible also tells us that sex outside of marriage is immoral: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” 1 Corinthians 7: 'But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband.'

From this we can conclude that the Bible tells us that we should be happy the way we are made by The Lord.

That being said, this does not mean your feelings are sinful. Jesus says to us in Matthew 5:30 'And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.'

This doesn't mean you have to repress your thoughts, since realistically that can be unhealthy - but do not embrace them. Many Christians choose to give up Earthly pleasures for the sake of The Lord - you can choose to do the same.

If you do choose to embrace them, The Lord will forgive you - the Lord will forgive all things, as long as you are sorry for them. That all said, here are the options I think you could pursue:

  1. Talk to people you trust about your feelings - if they are true Christians, they will do their best to help you through this, no matter what the result.
  2. Talk to God and have faith that he knows what is best for you. If God made you a man, then perhaps there's a good reason for it.
  3. Do not fall towards temptation - find other things to fill your time and forget sexuality. This is what I have chosen to do with my life - I have abandoned sexual desire so that I can be closer to our Lord.
  4. If you truly do feel the need to embrace your desires, then understand that repentance will be more difficult, but far from impossible. No possible sin is unforgivable (as the sin of Blaspheme against the Holy Spirit cannot occur as long as we cannot physically witness God and then deny Him).

May God smile upon you no matter what path you choose friend, and I hope you find happiness through yourself and through The Lord's love and guidance.
