Why are vegans so despised?

given the fact that a strictly plant-based diet is the best for both the body, the planet, and everyone in it; there is no way i will ever readily accept animal suffering again. even as a child i had trouble figuring that one out. i vaguely remember finally getting that some of the stuff i'd eat had to be killed, just so we could eat it. luckily i grew up that ate as much vegetables and tofu, as well as chicken and fish, not that much meat. my transition from eating whatever, to cooking and preparing my own foods, to then only eating fish occasionally, to then strictly plant based took me maybe like 4 years, and now i've been vegan for like 2?

i'm saying that no matter what i tell you, you will only see what you want to.

there's literally a wealth of information and studies readily available online, but again, you will only find what you want.

everyone's trynna sell you something, what is it? why? if you can't figure that one on your own, i can't help you.

and i can't make your decisions for you.

a good start would be to go to /r/vegan and post ask about whatever information you're lacking, and if people can help point you in the right direction.
