Why aren't more people rich from the stock market?

I have no earthly idea how i was able to scruff up an extra 15k that i had on the side from all the money I've been getting from unemployment (who knew $955 a week for 6 months straight could get me so far. I barely even make half that in my regular shitty delivery job)

this is so big. I'm in a similar situation. I used to be a delivery driver and lost work in march, have been unemployed since. I have more money (non invested) now than I've ever had before. I spend about $100 a week on groceries and weed and have very little other expenses. My rent is only $700. I have unlimited time to DD and look into the deep dark corners of speculation. Looking for work has taken a back burner to my time spent on the markets.

I've been seeing crazy returns in my rrsp, most of it already realized and put into bank/utility stocks. Just openeed a tfsa and going to go after a few of the rising star stocks for the next couple months, who knows how far this can take me? I'm worried about the market as a whole trending downwards, but I am confident in my ability to pick winners and take profits early. I honestly feel like if I play my cards right and don't get greedy, retiring within 20 years is not at all impossible.
