Arkansas bans trans students from using bathroom that matches gender | Arkansas

It's always one step forward, two steps back with acceptance and equality.

I have to disagree and you really have to put this into the proper context. Considering the strides society has made in a short amount of time, there's quite a bit of progress. We have characters on TV, comics, and movies. We have made equality law in many countries where discrimination - and not just ostracism but outright killing - was regularly practiced. We have politicians on all levels that are being elected for their ability to lead rather than their gender, orientation, etc.

Can we do better? Yes. Do some people want things to reverse? Definitely. But there's a ton of progress that has been made even in the last few decades and that progress has been made due to changing attitudes by the majority of the population. The bigots are being left in the dust and they're just kicking and screaming right now but will go away just like the anti-interracial marriage bigots.

Don't invalidate all that progress by saying we've gone backwards to the point where one step forward is two steps back. If that was true then women wouldn't be voting, let alone all the other accomplishments that have been made in the last century.
