Then in the late 1700s Europeans slowly started coming and colonizing it, later leading to the establishment of Australia in 1901.

Along the way there were of course many inhumanities and injustices which occured, similar the the colonization of America which treated Native Americans harshly, same with Canada and Native Americans, and of course the colonization of Africa.

This is what the commenter was talking about, I believe, regarding the rasict past of Australia. However, unless there is something I am missing, not visiting Australia based on this reasoning would mean one should never visit America, Canada, etc... and i think that is quite silly. Wouldn't you agree?
