Artifact Dead on Arrival?

Yes one of the early questions (1996) was whether a pack of baseball cards was gambling because you got a random result.

That particular case was thrown out and the legal interpretation in almost everywhere is baseball cards aren't gambling, and packs of magic cards aren't gambling, and loot boxes in video games aren't gambling.

Heck, buying credits in a mobile virtual gambling app that lets you gamble on slot machines but without taking money out aren't considered gambling either. I would have thought they'd be considered gambling before loot boxes were.
