Artificial Intelligence Has a ‘Sea of Dudes’ Problem

Super experienced brain thinker, and all around human here:

I do not know a single woman who would be held out of the field if she wanted to take part. Not a SINGLE HUMAN WOMAN who would say, I want to go into AI, that would be shunned, made to feel unwelcome, or not belong as a machine learning specialist.

It's NOT a problem. It's the way it is. The media, or the mainstream is SO obsessed with the ideal way things should be, that anything that does not match that is considered detrimental to society. Shite. Accept it for what it is, it will develop naturally as interest develops.

As a contrary topic - does cheerleading have a women problem? because of systemic societal issues? Does Oprah and Martha have a sea of women problem? Because society deems it so? Why is sexism supported in the WNBA? I'd throw up a little in my mouth if someone said the above things with a drop of seriousness.

I repeat - my superior intellect and super brain deems it not a problem, rather just the way it currently is. Unwrap your lesser experienced intellects from the way things 'ought' to be. Imagine a few nerds, maybe men, maybe women - combing through data and going - hmm, interesting. Mostly men. "Alert!! this is a problem!!" <--- this is where mainstream society has screwed up. Finding problems where there are none.

The proper sentiment is: AI is dominated by men. Full stop. Next, there may be a series of questions: What impact would a higher interest by women have in this emerging field. Is there something keeping them out? What might it be? Is it desirable to expend effort to even out the gender distribution in this particular field? If so, how, and why? Is it worth even thinking about? Seriously?

Also, very much joking about my superior intellect. I thought it fit somehow though... because you'd have to actually use your brain to not buy into this crap.
