ArtStation artists stage mass protest against AI-generated artwork

The real issue isn’t whether AI art is hideous or not, but that AI art isn’t really generating much on its own. It’s got millions of images fed into it and is collating them together. If painters and illustrators and filmmakers and photographers and so on get pushed out or marginalized, the software will need to greatly evolve or be stuck with a database to pull from that is stagnating.

This is also the argument that there’s a copyright issue. When someone used AI to make “Jodorowski’s Tron”, it’s just using a bunch of images of old films and basing them together with things it finds from the internet. It’s not creating in the true sense of the word.
