AS4E05 - Roast in Peace [Post Episode Discussion]

it's been giving me everything I need in terms of emotion, drama and twists.

What drama? The most we got was Gia being occasionally shady with a few scripted arguments with Trinity (and Gia has confirmed it was scripted though judging by the "acting", she didn't need to state the obvious). It pales in comparison to Phi Phi O'Hara feuding with Alyssa Edwards or Alaska having a meltdown when she's in the bottom. When the queens have to fake it just so we have any drama, you know there's very little substance to work with.

I just feel it's hard for the queens to truly show their personalities because they're too hesitant to damage their brand so we're seeing more scripted moments and less realness. The queens turning on Manila over how she voted for Latrice. Like, they already knew she was going to pick Latrice anyway but let's have this contrived narrative where they're giving Manila the cold shoulder. At least on All Stars 3, we knew for certain that the queens' dislike for Shangela was real and you could tell Thorgy Thor was bitter about having to be Stevie Nicks and then have Shangela bring up her name so she could go off on Trixie.

I think that if the show picked lesser known, less popular queens, it would definitely bring a greater edge into the proceedings. Bring up Rebecca Glasscock and Jade from Season 1 and we all know there'll be fireworks. Those two hate each other like Eureka and vegetables.
