Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games choose Dota 2 over League of Legends for MOBA category/ asia olympics

I don't play either anymore, but I played LoL way more than dota2, and I can tell you my reasons.

I hated the slow turning so much when I first started. I know you can get used to it, but it just felt so much smoother in league as a beginner.

Another thing for me was spammable skills. I don't know how dota2 is now, and I certainly didn't play all the heroes from dota2, but I didn't like how if I used 2 spells in lane, I'd be out of mana. In league, unless you are REALLY bad at managing mana or use skills as soon as they are off cooldown, you normally don't have to worry about your mana. I like using spells often. There's a lot of action, and the spells might be weaker, but a lot of them are fun to use often.

Colors in LoL are more vibrant than those in Dota2. This is actually what made me "choose" league over dota when I first started getting into moba. I just had no idea what was happening in dota2 as a beginner, and there were many confusing skills. In LoL, a lot of the times, it's pretty clear which champion used what skill. You may not know exactly what they do, but the flashy colors and animations makes it a bit easier to tell.

Lastly, and this was a very personal reason, when I was learning both games, I was getting flamed by my irl friends for not doing the right things and losing the game when I had less than 3 hours of playtime. On the other hand, my league friends were a bit more understanding towards me, and made it easier for me to learn the game. I'm not trying to make Dota2 players sound bad because I'm very aware that my flaming friends could've been playing league and does the same thing, but I'm just saying that my friends' behavior was very off putting, and made me not want to play with them in the future.

I think both games are great, and in the end, it's a fucking hobby, unless you are a pro. Why does it matter what other people like to play as long as you are spending your free time doing things you like? That criticism is a bit more towards Dota 2 fans because from my experience, they tend to bring up this topic more often then league fans.
