Aside from organised religion, what do most atheists think about the evidence for the survival of consciousness after death?

Absolutely 100% open to it, because nothing in this life is totally impossible. . .There's just too much we don't understand about the universe. . .We're biologically inadequate to do so.

That's the one big flaw about atheism, which is you close off the possibility of things that could in fact exist. Agnostic is a much better viewpoint because you can be realistic all the while not closed off to possibility. There very well could be some sort of "god", meaning something that governs the universe and anything else beyond it that we cannot see or understand. It doesn't have to be a living thing, or even something that we can comprehend. . .There are many possibilities and we just don't know.

Ricky Gervais once stated that Christians do not believe in 99% of gods and he as an atheist just doesn't believe in one more. . .While that's true, he didn't mention the flip side to atheism which is not believing there's a possibility isn't very scientific at all.

For the time being, I'm going to assume there is no god and there is no life after death. . .BUT, that doesn't mean there's a possibility of it.
