You ask, I deliver: more daily fantasy nerd NBA lineup optimizer updates based on your feedback

Hey guys,

Thank you so much for all your support and feedback. I’ve listened and done my best to incorporate your suggestions in the MLB tool. For your reference, here is the original reddit MLB announcement from a couple weeks ago.

Here’s the list of changes since last time:

  • The “Like” feature now prioritizes your liked players in the optimizer results.
  • Added “Randomize Lineups” option to create more diversity in the optimizer results. This feature is particularly useful when combined with the new “Like” feature to create many GPP lineup permutations.
  • Added a batting order lineup filter. Recommendation: this is particularly useful for cash games. Set the max batting order spot to 5 based on this insightful article by Jonathan Bales.
  • Added a stack lineup filter. Recommendation: increase the minimum stack for GPPs to improve upside and decrease the maximum stack for cash games to diversify.
  • Added a salary lineup filter. Recommendation: increase the minimum salary for cash games and consider decreasing the maximum salary for GPPs to create more unique lineups.
  • Added ISO differential percentage by handedness for hitters.
  • Added xFIP and last 5 game FP average stats for pitchers. While there is no evidence for recent hitter performance being indicative of future success, there is some correlation between recent pitcher performance and future success. Check out this article on pitcher streakiness by Rudy Gamble.
  • Pearson correlation analysis: added filter so that only players with more than 1 plate appearance are included in the results.
  • Players not starting are now hidden by default to reduce clutter.
  • Improved browser performance and speed.
  • Numerous bug fixes.
