My opinion is that you spent too much at one time.

I'd have suggested 6-7 decent dress shirts from JCP/Macys/Express on Black Friday Sales. Get 3-4 good dress pants. Each item on sale (with coupons and credit card discounts) should be $20 or less.

Save the rest of your money, and do another purchase in 2-3 months. Color availability, styles, types change with every season. Last year in September I was looking for a very specific green colored dress shirt. I only found 2 (very lime, and a medium green) at JCP, 1 dark green at Macy's, and Kohls had no dark green.

You spent $1000 and got mostly pre-winter/winter clothes. What about your lighter summer polos, shorts, etc?
