Asphalt - 1 : Screen - 0

I bought this case. Don't buy it because it feels like a slippery, rectangular brick; however, the lip is medium thickness and the hard plastic is super hard. I have a soft film screen protector. I dropped my phone pretty hard on concrete days ago. It bounced face first. Nothing cracked.

With my old burner phone, it had a "rugged" TPU+(flimsy) hard plastic case with a three dollar glass screen protector. I've dropped the phone from head height twice and nothing broke. Then twice it falls out of my lap and the screen protectors cracked.

I think the 9H hardness of the $45 Whitestone is better than the $3 eBay stuff, however there is room for doubt. I also think $40 or $60 Spigen cases are better than $10 cases, but there is also room for doubt. I've watched drop tests on YouTube and am sure expensive cases are better, but I think phones getting damage is all about freak chances. My $8 case protected my S9. Honestly. Don't anyone bash me; I am not trying to spread my opinion; I am only talking from my limited point of view and experience.
