Assassinated on the streets of Colombia

I like thinking about that scenario, but my plan is so paranoid it involves also using a stolen car or some dope fiend rental and making a car switch, because of the cameras around the city. You'd also have to be uncorrelated to the person you murder and could use an alibi. Realistically I'm thinking 95% of the planning of a murder is finding out where and when the target will be, so getting that information without leaving traces would be hardest part. Like you can't just google the person's information, I'm pretty sure the feds watch everything we do online and on our phones, so all that kind of info would have to come from a 2nd or 3rd party and using burner phones.

Like you said, one of the steps for a successful hit would be buying some goodwill shoes. The idea that I could be in the goodwill shopping for pots and pans and see some big ginger dude checking out the dusty shoe bin and think nothing of it. Meanwhile he's operating in a whole other world, plotting and scheming in broad daylight, with all this knowledge of how to get away with it only learned by experience, or apprenticing. That level of professional, predatory, almost robotic mind is fascinating to me.

I think murder is totally doable but it's expensive, you'd have to get a few people involved (dude to get the car, dude for the gun, dude for the target location, dude that pays for hit) and you can only really get away with it in cold blood. I think both those criteria mean I'm not murdering anyone anytime soon lol at least not get away with it. But the idea of this whole other dark world where people are trading stolen guns, rentals taken from out of state, and knowledge of how to sell drugs or commit murder is really interesting to me. It's like, speaking in terms of an analogy, I want to learn the secret handshake but I don't want to join the club, since I'm sure most of the time it's an 'if I told you I'd have to kill you' sort of situation.
