Assaults On Campus

Your oversimplification of the situation demonstrates your lack of knowledge about firearms and the very scenario you described.

If I were to shoot, it would be in such a way that the attack could not respond. There's a target zone called the 'triangle' and it forces a hard stop. (There are two types of stop when shooting someone: 1) Soft or Psychological - meaning they are wounded and decide to stop what they are doing and 2) Hard or Physiological Stop, I.e. shooting them in the triangle area between the two eyes and nose so that their brainstem is blown out and they essentially drop dead, and thus, stop.) One shot with a 9mm defensive round (hollowpoint) in that triangle would insure they do not return fire. I can make that shot within a shouting distance like clock work. Additionally, if they are robbing people on a college campus, I am willing to bet they have no idea how to properly operate the firearm, let alone have any intention of using it.

I am shooting the attacker to make sure their dumbass does not hurt me or innocent bystanders. I am an impeccable shot. I don't miss. (I am speaking for myself. I understand that I am responsible for the terminal resting place of every bullet I would fire.)

I do not lay down for some punk ass criminal. If they are willing to pull a gun and/or shoot someone for a wallet, computer, and/or phone - then they deserve to be shot. Do you know how annoying it is to try and get new ID's made and get a new phone all setup?

Furthermore, going forward: If potential criminals/robbers knew that they would be met with this response it would deter them from continuing their little crime spree.
