AST SpaceMobile filed through NICTA of PNG with the ITU for Q/V band rights ( first time in 2019) under the name MICRONSAT

FREQUENCY BAND USE of SpaceMobile constellation:

37.5-42.5GHz Gateway links (downlink)

45.5-47, 47.2-50.2, and 50.4-51.4GHz, Gateway links (uplink)

AST will use V band frequencies for critical gateway links. The gateway uplink carriers in the V band accommodate and uplink the mobile phone forward link signals for each active cells to AST’sSpaceMobile satellites. The satellite payload processer demultiplexes the V band uplink signals and maps them to the downlink beams covering the cells formed by the phased array antenna in the assigned mobile phone channel frequencies. At the return link side, the user equipment uplink signals from different cells in the assigned mobile phone channels are received by the formed beams from the phased array antenna.

As mentioned in post, AST has worked throughPapuaNew Guinea’s telecommunications regulatory authority to initiate the notification process at the ITU for its requested frequencies for the SpaceMobile constellation.

AST has made the following filings to the ITU:

1.MICRONSAT API 2.MICRONSAT API MOD-13. MICRONSAT API MOD-2 (in the backlog) 4.MICRONSAT CR 5.MICRONSAT CR MOD-1 6.MICRONSAT CR MOD-2 7.MICRONSAT CR MOD-3 (in the backlog) 8.MICRONSAT Notification for S and Q/V Bands of APIand API MOD-1
