Astros starter Corbin Martin, currently making his MLB debut, was drafted with the pick given to them from the Cardinals following the hacking scandal.

I see this has been downvoted to the shadow realm, but allow me to clarify what I thought was obvious. Correa committed a serious federal offense and has been justly punished for it. Further, the Cardinals organization has rightly been sanctioned as the principal of their employee.

The original comment was nothing more than (1) a joke about the Cardinals and their connection to the ~gritty~ player types like Eckstein and (2) a joke/observation that there is humor in a billion dollar organization not adequately protecting their cutting edge research and player development concepts with so much as a randomly created password like most organizations with valuable IP would do.

Anyway, I suspect a lot of this was flair voting and people thinking I’m defending what the Cardinals did. It takes some pretty impressive mental gymnastics to think I condone what the organization did. To get “asshole” from either of my comments is pretty bad faith but ok.
