Atheist in need of help

My observation is no one here really cares what others believe in, they are more concerned with others who commit the act of fornication.

The first part is true in the sense that it is already assumed, while the second mainly follows from the first, showing the sometimes hypocritical nature of religion in Nigeria. They'll accept corruption and even fornication by the religious more than they tolerate non-believers and atheists.

If others ask what you believe in, a quick way to dodge the question is mentioning “Christianity” or “Islam”. That silences them till they wonder why you don’t visit the church or mosque.

That's still a problem - having to lie till it wears you out. Although I've found that can be true in America as well, where most are nominally religious - especially when you're devoutly religious or, perhaps worse, an atheist. Just so the OP isn't under any delusions...
