I didn't push an opinion on whether I "liked" the use of the word in "modern" times. The point I was trying to get across is pretty easy to understand. By inaccurately describing a class or group of individuals as another, we are prescribing a sort of verbal equilibrium between the two that shouldn't exist on the basis of facts. So really the term Nazi acts as a dog whistle for the user's emotions on the situation. It attracts others willing to partake in the modern liberal zeitgeist. It doesn't matter if the term is factually correct or not.

It's like how the term literally is used to describe things that aren't actually literal. Well, there was a word that could be used for that: virtually.
