Not only this, but she was actively doing the classic white person tactic of recording, getting in someones face, and basically daring him to touch her. There wasn't going to be any conversation at that point.

But, that's the point, to make you have an "unreasonable" villain with an "unreasonable" problem, and for you to be sympathetic to Doug's plight. If she was more reasonable, or if he had actually listened to the co-workers advice, he may have gotten off in a better situation, but that didn't happen with black people historically and I feel like that's the point; to put the viewer in a position to understand the root of the problem.
