Have the attitude & opinions of a foreign SO about the US ever influenced you?

Yeah, I dated a girl from Finland and I finally understood what Europe is up to. See, to them it's all a big game. She said that Finnish guys used to get total drunk naked-in-the-streets wasted and wear shirts with Swedish flags them so when they made asses of themselves, Finland didn't look bad. Thats when I realized it's never a good idea to criticize your country because it's all a big game and people truly don't give a shit about what your country did or didn't do. It's just social jockeying, and that's primary reason why anyone would criticize the US in front of you... particularly people from countries that have no responsibilities or don't have to make decisions...like Finland.
