That's a pretty big ''except''. It's twenty-seven other countries encompassing several hundred million people, some of the countries being quite economically and culturally far apart from the UK. Then there's the fact every one of those countries' non-EU immigration policy is now an effective 'backdoor' to Britain. It's a pretty significant loss of granular control.

As for 2) if you genuinely think all of those arrivals as the result of the 2014-15 Migration crisis should be given passports you're way out of step with your own country's average citizen let the UK's, which just goes to show how we must always remember that Reddit is a bubble.....
