[AUDIO] "Why does your government seem so timid to alleviate the housing crisis?" - Jon McComb questions B.C. Finance Minister Carole James

I doubt that whatever "highly thought out" solution they come up with will make everyone happy. I also doubt they can single-handedly "fix" the problem. They need to communicate realistically and take purposeful actions. Giving them more time to even just say more than "we are thinking" when they've had decades to think about the solutions is what is unacceptable to people. They aren't even committing to what was in their high-level campaign platform at the moment. They are signalling that they are a do-nothing government and that upsets people that voted for them to take meaningful steps towards housing affordability.

I agree that people should be careful what they wish for here. People demand too much from the provincial government on this. However, people demanded action and its quite frankly inappropriate for the NDP to have committed to doing something on such a high-priority issue and not follow through on it or give indications that they've done meaningful homework on the issue beforehand.

They are the ones that went all-in on housing affordability, tied their fate to the issue, and if they don't deliver they are guaranteed OUT next election.
