My brother beats his kids as well as mentally and verbally abuses them. He has been reported to DCF multiple times over the past 7 years by mandated reportees at their schools and by clinicians. DCF does an 'investigation' and believes his lies about how the kids supposedly have behavioral problems. (They act fine and well behaved with extended family so he is lying) Now the taxpayers of MA are paying for a 50k a year school for my nephew to attend since after years of abuse and neglect without DCF taking action, he started acting up at school and was expelled. He told a clinician that he did not feel safe at home and wanted to go somewhere safe but he was sent right back to be beaten and abused some more. He was also severely bullied in middle school since he was coming to school smelling of urine regularly. My niece reported physical and verbal abuse as well by her father.

DCF has done nothing to help these kids. When extended family calls the abuse reporting line for DCF they just screen out the calls and tell the caller that it just sounds like a 'family dynamic problem'. No one wastes their time calling. We are just waiting for the day he finally crosses the line and kills one of them.
