Austin cuts police budget by 1/3 amid national 'defund' push

I'd be fine with them owning this shit if they didn't use it to constantly escalate everything. But they aren't trained well, they constantly make mistakes and injure or kill innocent people.

Not leaving somewhere isn't a reason to use potentially lethal force, and I'd ask you to provide proof that those mraps have saved even a single life.

Police in the US need to have a paradigm shift for how they work. Currently they look for any excuse that "justifies" them using their fancy toys to injure, maim, and kill people for minor transgressions. It's okay if a cop executes someone in the street because they reached into their pocket, or permanently blinding peaceful protesters with rubber bullets and tear gas canisters fired directly at the heads of Innocents.

If in the future the police change their ways and no longer shoot the store owners that call them, maybe then they can be trained on how to use this militarized equipment.
