Austin jobless rate hits 20-year low of 2.2%

Tons of gig economy jobs, part-time jobs, delivery jobs, service industry jobs, etc...

Tons of jobs that pay $15/hr, but in 10 years still making under $20/hr...

Unemployment is measured by amount of people receiving unemployment pay. There's tons of residents who don't file because they're from other areas & can't file here/it's a hassle.

People who don't file because they can't: never had a real job to put money into unemployment...

Also, sometimes you're lucky if unemployment pays $100/week... Nobody can live off that, so no need to file...

Look at the job numbers, check out what sectors pays what & what's the demand.... Austin, like much of US, the data is skewed
