Australia has a racism problem and I just want to talk (rant) about it

In much of my previous industries I've never seen more than four white people unless they were in the upper management positions.

Australia is a predominantly Caucasian country. Therefore more Caucasians go to University, acquire upper level management degree, certifications etc. This is the reasons for seeing more "whites" in upper management.

Based on population statistics I find it hard to believe that you've not seen a single white person in lower position jobs. At least, that is how your post is being understood by me personally. This is hard to comment on without more information on your industry.

I don't care what you say u/misterblogs but I've never seen someone who is non-white in a construction union during my three years working it it.

Yet again, this is because "whites" are a majority in this country and therefore are the majority graduates for the required degrees for these position. A fair comparison would be the female to male ratio when looking at management positions. Women historically weren't interested in higher management roles until recently due to a bunch of reasons. Now there are more women getting involved in these positions.

Then there's the fact that there's backpay or unpaid wages to non-whites within Australia that would never be done to white Australians.

This happens to everyone. I've had backpay not paid for a long time, once I threaten legal actions then things changed. I do not believe this to be a race issue.

I've gone to interviews where I was more than qualified for the position or more than willing to learn dozens of times a year but no one, and I repeat, no one is willing to give me the chance to be hired.

Thousands of people apply for job positions. You're qualified, great! but so are the other hundred people from all races. This isn't a race issue. This is a competition problem.

at least admit it honestly by saying "we don't want a South Asian Guy working as receptionist and want a white woman"

Read what you typed critically, this is more of a sexism issue than a race issue. They're wanting women not men. They want attractive people to be a welcomer. The "white woman" factor is he say she say because I've seen countless women from all races as receptionist at medical clinics, dental practices, skins care spas etc.

If I talk about it with a therapist which I have a few times in the past ten years they either don't understand (if they're white) or don't care (if they're not).

You have spoken to therapist who aren't white as you said "if they're not". They don't see a racism problem, they're in a demographic that may face racism. Could it be that there isn't that big of a racism problem? I mean therapist are pretty prestigious roles especially in the modern times with such a big push for mental health. Yet again, not attacking simply painting a perspective.

You're not peoples preferrence. it's simply. I'm 5'8" and women reject me all the time because I'm apparently "too short". I don't get angry and claim whateverism, I accept this is my "flaw" (even though it's not, the same way your skin colour is not a flaw) that isn't a preference.

We sit down and talk for a few minutes then the manager comes in and tells us to leave despite the fact that the restaurant is only half full at best and we're not doing anything.

You're talking at a restaurant while as you say "doing nothing", they're a business, you don't buy anything then they have a right to ask you to leave. This definitely isn't a race issue. You also probably spend more than "a few minutes" in all honestly and simply don't realise how fast time goes.

the manager apologizes to my WHITE friend for the inconvenience and he gets pissed at her.

Could the manage simply be apologising, not too your friend specifically and because you clearly have this perceived racism mindset you deem it as ONLY apologising to WHITEY? when I make an apology I don't say it directly to all members. You say you where collecting your bag, perhaps he saw you where busy and noticed that your friend wasn't.

I'm not saying theres no racism. I'm saying that you might just be digging to deep into things. One time I thought I had testicle cancer, I keep rubbing my nut, getting anxious, constant googling, feeling, checking, googling again. until I got a check up and it was just a normal cyst. I dugg to deep into it thinking what could go wrong and ignored what might be normal. e.g. immediately thinking it was cancer when it could have been a bunch of other things.
