Australian city council to ban pet cats from going outside to protect wildlife

Getting people to give up their meats is another difficult one. Nobody who I talk to likes the way they are treated before slaughter nor would they be capable of butchering a cow. They'll gladly buy it pre-packaged in stores though.

I've worked on a farm as a teen, where cows could free roam most of the year and witnessed the practice of them giving birth which is difficult without human intervention as the calf has to be pulled out of the womb. Another one of humanities' great achievements I guess. I've also seen them be very friendly and kind animals who were happy to see me arrive in the morning, full of fear while getting on the transport to the slaughterhouse and I can only imagine what it's like for them when they get there. Been a vegetarian since and I would like to believe everyone would be after that, or at least consider it. Though when the vegetarian options are sometimes 4x expensive than the straight up meat kind; what can you do?
