This is stupid, they were large Empire situated right in hear of Europe literally surrounded by enemies and rivals on all sides

Ottomans during their peak in the south, France their bitter continental rival who hated them so much that hey even made alliance with Ottomans vs Austria, Prussia north, Russia west, Protestant rebels etc... literally million different enemies.

Basically they couldn't avoid the wars even if they wanted to, for example their strategic situation was completely opposite from British who when in trouble always could retreat on their island and weather the storm behind the channel, no such luxury when you are large empire in middle of Europe.
