That does not mean he is magically immune to becoming dependent on a highly addictive drug like Klonopin, which he was prescribed by his doctor and presumably took as prescribed.

He is a psychologist. He wasn't "taking orders" from his doctor. He wasn't unaware of the source of his ills and looking for a diagnosis. If he went to a doctor, with his knowledge base, he was going to get medication. It was not something he simply agreed to because the doctor suggested it, as if he would blindly take orders from someone else in regards to his mental health when he has spent all of his life studying such things.

You're trying to explain away something you can't.
