Automotive career advice

You can take one of two doors based on your skills and passion. Either going into the actual service side (technician, service writer, parts) or into the engineering side (design, business, research and development) you will find there is a lot of crossover and opportunities to switch, but it's a good idea to actually know what you want to be doing in 10 years.

Based on which door you pick that will dictate what schooling you require.

A word of advice is don't idolize companies like that. If you do your research you will find admirable and aspiring things about every brand. If you walk around turning up your nose at certain companies or tunnel visioning on others, you aren't going to make a ton of friends in the industry and it could even cost you opportunities. Just some thoughts from someone currently breaking in themself. Good luck
