In Avengers: Endgame (2019), Scarlet Johansson throws herself off a cliff so she doesn’t have to be part of the girl power scene

First: it’s completely ridiculous that all of them are in the same spot. Like.. in this gigantic battle with seemingly thousands of combatants ALL the female characters just happen to be in that spot?

Second: they already had a GREAT girl power scene in infinity war. I loved that scene. It was dope.

and lastly: Captain Marvel absolutely did not need help. She J U S T decimated Thanos’ capital ship without breaking a sweat. Either of captain marvel or Wanda could’ve gotten the glove through that. They didn’t need the rest. Especially mantis. I love mantis, she’s great... not a fighter though. She doesn’t even have a weapon.

I’m not against girl power scenes. I’m against ludicrous scenes that make no sense whatsoever. There were better ways to have that scene. I still love endgame it didn’t ruin the movie by any means, just a bad scene

In Hamilton (2020), after the Reynolds pamphlet is published, the song 'Never Gonna be President Now' is sung. This is a reference to the fact that being involved in a sex scandal used to mean that you would not elected president. In Pixar’s Up (2009) Carl and Ellie break into their Paradise Falls savings jar in order to pay for Carl’s hospital bill, this is actually a clever reference to the fact that the American healthcare system is literal garbage. In Game of Thrones, S8E4, you can clearly see a Starbucks cup in one scene. This is a subtle nod to how the show runners literally don’t give a fuck anymore. Despite being unwilling to sacrifice Vision in Infinity war (2018) to save the universe, Captain America sacrifices the lives of hundreds of Wakandians to keep Vision alive. This is subtle nod to the fact Cap is actually from 1930s America viewing the lives of black people as worthless.
