Once it's normal they stop any politicians from getting a majority to pass fat taxes into law. We penalized smoking and drinking in my country. But we sat on our hands to long for a fat tax. Now it'll never happen since 70% of adults are overweight or obese.

Don't let it get normal. That means they're the majority and as a voting block they'll leech and block policy that inconveniences them. The head of the opposition party in my country got hammered by the media for saying obesity is a choice.

I have a lot of respect for smokers. They pay extra taxes to cover their costs. They actually pay more in taxes than they cost the state. The overweight and obese though cost us billions in health care and pay sweet fuck all to cover that.

Seriously. Don't normalize it. They're detrimental to a functioning healthcare budget.
