I’ve called once.

I was at work, in the back room of a small retail shop, and heard what sounded like a shower running. I opened the bathroom door to see water pouring out of the pipes under the faucet. Trying to close the valve made the valve break off and water to start shooting out with the power of a firehose!

People start coming into the back (including customers) because of the commotion, and one of them even helps move product out of the way of the rising water as I’m calling the fire department! A few minutes later a bunch of firemen come tromping through the store (in front of customers who didn’t get a clue to leave), turning off the water at the street and emptying our back room of water.

The building owner was out of the country and my boss didn’t answer the phone so I had to leave her a voicemail telling her that her business had flooded. Fun day.
