The Average U.S. Millennial Watches More Netflix Than TV

It's like you have no concept of reality.

The projector is electronic equipment. Do you know how a projection works? It's pretty darn similar to how a television (device) works. The television (device) does not "electronically display" anything. It converts the light to a signal and back to light, which is then projected onto the screen. Very literally in the case of DLP (digital light projection) televisions, but still accurate involving LCD and newer technologies, they just handle the projection of light differently; in the case of LCD, panels move to block and allow light, in plasma TVs they use xenon reactions to create light. In all cases, light is projected onto the screen to make an image that is visible, and in none of the cases are they displayed "electronically", at least not moreso than a projector.

This posted definition of television describes the encoding and decoding process that was frequently used by televisions in the past. It could also describe the modern method of radio-transmitted television signals. But this definition is of the "television protocol" so to speak. The modern way of doing it is different from the old way, which is why old televisions required a box to receive the new type of signal in the early 2000s, as they did not know how to use it. If you use the term "television" to describe the protocol, then the protocol conflicts even with itself.

As I said in my other comment which you replied to, television is one method of sending video data, but there are others available, and the television protocol is not one of the ones involved with viewing Netflix.
