AW not suitable for tracking day to day activities

I’m more or less in the same boat. I went from a Charge 3 to an AW4, and tracking exercise has been substandard. The main reason I left the Charge 3 was that it could not under any circumstances track my heart rate during sleep so the sleep analysis was mostly inconclusive, which was my biggest concern. The AW4 reads heartbeat two different ways and is able to give me a sleep analysis every single time using the Pillow App.

While tracking exercise (mostly weights with some treadmill walking every day) the Charge 3 was excellent at figuring out there was some form of exercise there even if you didn’t start and stop the activity collection. The AW4 just doesn’t do that. In fact even if you tell it to start recording being on the treadmill and don’t flail your arms about it won’t record your steps at all. With weights it’s even less accurate, you have to record it as Other. I have yet to find an app that augments this ability. It seems that unless you are doing rigorous exercise it doesn’t know what to do.

It looks pretty though, they have that down - but I want functional.
