In the middle of my last LTR, there was a near branch swinging incident. We knew that she would move on when she got to grad school, but that was 3 years away at the time, and we had just rented an apartment together, dropped cash on furnishings, etc.

A guy in class had an epic opener: "Google me." Turns out he's big into crytpocurrencies, a millionaire 4 or 5 times over at 28. Good looking, too. Totally legit. However, I knew he was a player, just from the stuff she told me. The end game was to get him to show those cards.

I knew she would eventually move on, and has. Our split was beyond amicable, but she's a smokeshow 20 years younger than I am, and wants kids. If this guy was ready to settle down, I would have tapped out, but I wasn't going to lose 2 more (what turned out to be great) years with her over a pump 'n dump.

Anyway, one day after all this, it was trust building time (and attraction building time, which was honestly harder). I got a hold of her phone and read all of the texts. It fucking hurt, a lot, but every single thing she reported to me was totally accurate. Trust building took as long as reading those texts.

I'm not saying NAWALT......again this was mid branch swing, etc.
