Awesome Big4 offer, but feeling down about it

I can completely relate to this thread. Reading these posts is like reading my own thoughts. I recently not only got into B4 audit, but was able to take it a step further and land a FT offer in M&A Advisory before even graduating. Most people have to grind for 2-3 years in audit, be top rated, and network to have a shot at getting in but I feel like I just skipped all that and I should be extremely happy. But when I tell my friends and family it's just like "nice, you got a job". I think part of the reason is why is how poorly public accounting pays to start. I think people hear that you make $50K and they're like "well that's pretty average so I don't know why he's so excited" without understanding that this profession scales up very quickly.

Anyway though, just read posts on here from people who are in the know and can attest to how difficult landing that job you got really is. Read the posts from students who want nothing more than to be in the position you are in now. Read the posts of people who were once in your spot and went on to have great careers. Those are the people who actually know and whose opinions matter a bit more IMO.
