Ayaan Hisri Ali calls for Canadians to vote for Neo-Conservative PM Stephen Harper on Twitter

I think not.

Islam, with the radicals/fundamentalists at the tip of the spear, are one of the greatest threats to western civilization, democracy and values - (yeah, yeah, along with global warning, solar expulsions, etc, etc.) Throw out all the stats you want about "Muslims are only a tiny percent of...", and "the fundamentalists are only a tiny percentage of...", but in any population of Muslims, no matter how moderate and peace loving, there are fundamentalists who are pushing for traditional conservative Muslim values - and not just for themselves, but for the surrounding communities, and who brow beat the moderate Muslims into being "good Muslims".

Islam is designed like a computer virus - it is designed to spread, to infect hosts, to take over the host, multiply and spread. Islam just took a huge leap forward with the influx of Muslim refugees into western Europe. The extremist Imams are rubbing their hands with glee over the miserable plight of these people.

You perhaps cannot imagine this as a major issue in your lifetime, but I'm talking about a longer time scale. Islam is not concerned with a four-year election cycle, or a generation; they are thinking in hundreds of years. There is a saying that expresses the of the differing values of the Muslim world versus the west, (paraphrasing) "The west may have the clocks, but we have the time."

And they know, that given enough time, and if they just keep working the plan, they will fulfill their dream of a world-wide Islamic Caliphate. This is not a paranoid fantasy - many outspoken fundamentalist Imams/Clerics have stated this publicly.

It might not happen in your lifetime, and maybe you are not concerned with what happens after you die, but do you have children, will you have grandchildren? Do you want them to be living in the 21st century, but exist like they are in the 1400's, living under a tyrannical theocracy, forced to wear burqas or chadors?

Who knows better the dangers of fundamentalist Islam than Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
