Baby kissing dog

I've known and worked with a number of people involved in pit bull rescues and they tend to adopt the dogs that are so traumatized/abused that regular volunteers can't handle them. I would be surprised if that wasn't the case with this woman. So I guess I was referring to the people that raise the animals and create the behavior rather than the owners that adopt them.

I fostered a pit bull once that was covered from head to toe in bite marks because he was used as a bait dog that people would sick their fighting dogs on for training. He was one of the sweetest dogs imaginable but suffered from horrible nightmares. If you woke him up during one of his nightmares he would be absolutely terrified and would snap at anything near him trying to get away. Sometimes people are overconfident in their ability to undo that trauma.
