I want to get back into nt°

Dawngate was pretty cool.

  • Learning curve is steep, the community is hardcore tons of people still playing from the initial source release, some from before that. You're absolutely guaranteed difficult/impossible matches; sometimes the best players stack teams, usually on accident but winning rounds is so rewarding in these scenarios. Learn through their positioning. And remember to use the lean mechanic

  • Bunny hopping is something you can practice if you really want too but a lot of great players don't use outside of detpack shenanigans or at all. Same thing with camo to a lesser extent, as a rule of thumb try to wait 15-20 seconds into the match before first activating unless you got recon rushed last round.

  • Unlike a multitude of other games Neotokyo doesn't rely heavily on silhouette based recognition for classes, not that it doesn't exist but Assaults and Supports have similar armor variations so it can be confusing sometimes.

If you find it hard to discern the easiest way for me is based on speed. (After learning the maps it's easier to tell based on map positions)

Recon class is small and fast, sprinting lets you cover tons of ground and works well in conjunction with bunny hopping.

Assaults are bulkier and with a smaller sprint that's slightly faster.

Supports are walking tanks, no sprinting.

Positioning, and Team Coordination are the only elements you absolutely can't learn without time spent in-game; just join in, fuck around and have fun with it. The communities created tons of resources so check those out if your interested.

TL;DR Come hang out, Feel free to ask any questions you have regardless of how silly it sounds, in-game or on the ANP Group discussion and carry me in-game =]
