Badass commercial for the best hospital in the world: Toronto's The Hospital for Sick Children

There are a lot of ways the american system isn't better enough to justify the much higher cost.

It terms of actual care, Canada and the US are on par with each other, Survival rates for surgeries, cancer, injuries are similar.

Emergency services are on par with each other, If i get into a car crash in either country i WILL get similar service, but the Canadian one is going to vastly cost less.

Yes the Canadian system is lacking some relatively extreme luxuries, but none of them justify the 2x higher cost to the average person.

At the same time Everyone has similar coverage in Canada we are equal to what would be some high tier insurance plan in the USA in terms of what is covered, There are very very very few things not covered in Canada, but the same cannot be said for the majority of insurance plans in the US, There are massive gaps in coverage in the US you would not find in Canada.

On a financial side of things Medical debt is "worth" several trillion in the US, 70% of yearly bankruptcies are medical related, well over 1.5 million people go bankrupt in the US because if medical issues every single year.

If you are rich in the USA you can't beat the medical services, but for everyone else a Mixed Public/Private system would be cheaper and far more beneficial, It would literally save the USA over a trillion dollars collectively every year while providing coverage for everyone, without leaving those who want all the extra luxuries out.

The impact on debt and the economy alone is more then worth it.
