BADBADNOTGOOD - IV

I don't believe that they themselves intend to stand on the same stage as the bands you've listed (some of whom I've listened to a lot). They do their own thing and a lot of people like it (from many listening demographics). If were to recommend artists that are similar to BADBADNOTGOOD, I wouldn't necessarily point to any Jazz artists (save some of the more popular figures like coltrane, davis, mingus, or evans). I'd direct them over to the likes of Flying Lotus, Mndsgn, Knxwledge, Kaytranada, Thundercat, Robert Glasper Experiment (YES R.G.E. ARE SUPERIOR JAZZ MUSICIANS BUT THEY PLAY GENRE SPANNING MUSIC TOO)... That's the pool I think they're swimming in.

They were cocky with the statement made on their first release but I find most of the backlash caused by it to be over sensational. Jazz listeners are autistic with their music and anyone who doesn't fit their bill is an enemy.

Jazz music (and its listeners) have always been a bit too stubborn in accepting musical influence. It's frustrating that the best musicians in the world eschew so many great musical ideas. If every Jazz group experimented with more instruments and hooked up with producers like FlyLo, there'd be some insane music coming out nowadays.
