Ban circumcision for boys under-18s, says Intact Denmark - A citizen’s petition could spell the beginning of the end to the controversial practice in Denmark

I'm an American who was born in the 80's and me and neither of my brothers were circumcised. My aunt, who was a labor and delivery nurse, talked my parents out of it after witnessing numerous circumcisions personally and seeing the pain the baby is put through during the procedure. I've never had any issues at all either with hygiene, infections, or women rejecting me because of it.

I think the part of the anti-circ argument that pro-circ people miss is that it's the permanent altering of a babies body without their input, for no other reason than 'It's just the thing we do'. The fact that circ'd people don't give it much thought is what leads to it continuing to happen without stopping to think about why.

I now have two boys who I didn't have circumcised and have had zero issues with UTI's or hygiene. Yet, if they grow up and choose to have it done, fine. It then would at least be their own choice.
