Bank is going to repo my car. Just found out my parents stopped paying for it after I came out

And what would your solution be? Yes, I agree, the capitalistic nature of our society is sucking us dry and makes it nearly impossible for the lower class to survive. You’re right. As someone who grew up in Los Angeles as the eldest daughter of a single mother of 3, I know what it’s like to be poor. We lived in a 2-bedroom apartment with 20 other family members, ate bean burritos for most meals, and wore second hand clothes. My mother had decent credit (until her identity was stolen), but wasn’t very money savvy otherwise. Even now, I am a part time teacher at a community college in the state with the highest cost of living. Even with a masters degree, I’m not raking in stacks of cash. My point is that many people were never taught how to be financially responsible. That doesn’t mean you can’t learn. Many people never put anything into a savings account but don’t blink when they spend money on alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, delivery food, streaming platforms, new tech, or expensive clothes. That stuff’s cool, but if you can’t put $60 a paycheck into savings then you need to reassess how you’re spending your money and make some changes.
