If they were Jews, why didn’t they just go to the temples instead of following Jesus around? Did following Christ not force them to go against Jewish beliefs? I guess those dudes in the temple where Jesus caused all that supposed ruckus were wrong, he was a Jew after all. Let’s rewrite the bible, INRI wasn’t meant to be a mockery after all, I suppose.

Anyway, I’m glad that you know how to google references, yet as I mentioned up there, the topic of this is irrelevant. The poster didn’t ask about the history of baptism, which none of us can speak to, since we are in 2018 and only have very few primary and contested, shaky sources for. They asked if it mattered in magic. And the answer is that in magic, you choose what matters. And a baby cannot choose, religiously, what matters to them.
