she's not wrong? Jiu Jitsu is actually Japanese, and Brazilian Jiu jitsu aka BJJ is Japanese jiu jitsu adapted in Brazil. There is a long history of how BJJ got popular in Brazil...so she actually apologized unnecessarily...and it is common to ask if people do other martial arts, since BJJ is a ground based fighting system and you kinda need Thai boxing/boxing to round out your full fighting game.

I agree with you about the "racial oppressive olympics" why do people need to say it's not that bad or it's not as bad or [name] have it worse, etc.? that really is diminishing your personal experience and you should stop the conversation and discuss that part.
