Back in highschool I had a friend, and his dad had some real lady troubles. My friend's mom was a real shithead, and after they split up the guy hadn't been with any women in like 10 years. A lot of that had to do with the fact that he was an overweight alcoholic who got aggressive when he was drunk, but he had a sweet side too, cared about his son and all that. One day he announces to everybody that he's getting married. Turns out it's a mail-order bride situation, she's coming from Honduras. She gets here and they chill together for about 6 months before the wedding. I don't know what all happened in that time, but I was invited to the wedding 6 months later. They held it at his Mom's house which was this old retiree community on a golf course. Nice place, nice wedding and all. My friend was staying up there for the weekend so I stuck around too.
Some hours after they got married, his dad had gotten incredibly drunk. But it was drunk like we hadn't seen him before - he seemed quiet and sad. Some time passed and the wife was dropping hints here and there like, 'hey dude, it's time for bed.' Wink wink. But the night went on and the dude just wouldn't move. He made it seem like he was just 'hanging out with the guys', half of whom happened to be 16 years old at the time. But this got weirder and weirder because he wasn't actually saying anything, just drinking like a whale and turning inward. Eventually it was 3 in the morning and the guy was still just sitting there. The wife, surprisingly, hadn't even given up by that point - she was still trying to get them to go to bed. I don't know exactly what the guy was thinking at the time, but the running theory was that the dude was a little insecure in the sack, and he was nervous to consummate his marriage after not being laid in 10 years. Understandable, but gooood damn the second hand cringe was almost unbareable.
He ended up sleeping on the couch.
But a year later, they were having a baby, so I guess he got around to it eventually. I still feel really bad for her, cause he's a real dickhead and never stopped being an aggressive drunk other than that one night.
